Rules & Etiquette

  • It is your responsibility not to hit slower skiers or boarders, not theirs to get out of your way.
  • Do not stop, sit down or take a rest in the middle of the piste. If you do have to stop, do so at the side of the run well out of the way but in view of other skiers and boarders.
  • Read and stick to the rules and piste etiquette terms which are set out by each resort.
  • Have a clear indication of what the weather is and will be like before you set out for that day.
  • Never go off-piste alone.
  • Stick to the appropriate trail for your standard.
  • Whenever you ride on a lift, detach your back foot from the board.
  • The riders in front of you has the right of way, therefore be aware of them at all times.
  • Take a break if you are tired in an appropriate place.
  • Before you set off on a run, check uphill to see if there are any oncoming users and if there are let them pass before you ride off.
  • Respect learners.
